Use advice for data set
Users of this dataset should apply it when assessing the environmental impact of recycling LFP batteries. It's critical to ensure that the methodology used for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) accurately reflects the direct physical recycling process, including the appropriate allocation of impacts for the reclamation of materials and subsequent usage. Users must account for energy expenses and emissions related to the recycling process and consider the functional unit equivalent to recycling 1 kWh LFP battery, weighing 0.81kg, per 0.0157 of a waste lithium polymer battery.

General comment
Waste lithium iron phosphate batteries are discharged and then dismantled automatically in a refined way to recover the metal components and plastic parts, etc.; the positive and negative electrodes of the battery core are separated, crushed and sorted to get copper powder, aluminum powder and positive and negative electrode material powders; then the positive electrode powder is adjusted for the composition through the method of material repair, and synthesized into a new positive electrode material at a high temperature; the negative electrode powder is repaired into a new negative electrode material and the diaphragm and electrolyte are recovered and reused, so as to achieve the recycling of the whole component of the waste lithium iron phosphate batteries.

Technical purpose
The recycling process described is intended for use in the recovery and repurposing of components from waste lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. It specifically applies to the reclamation of metal parts, plastics, and electrode materials, which includes the separation, crushing, and sorting of electrode materials, followed by the material repair and high-temperature synthesis of new electrode materials. This process ensures that nearly all components of LFP batteries are recycled, thus supporting sustainable battery manufacturing and contributing to the circular economy.
