Technical purpose The hydrometallurgical process described is utilized for the recovery and recycling of valuable metals from end-of-life (EoL) lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. It involves disassembly, crushing of spent batteries, extraction of metals via leaching in an acid-base solution, followed by purification processes to obtain high-purity lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4). This recycled LiFePO4 can be used as a cathode material for the manufacturing of new lithium-ion batteries. |
