Use advice for data set When utilizing this data set for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), ensure to consider the production route of the aluminum alloy extrusion, which is divided into two parts: 85% originating from the remelting of virgin aluminum ingots and 15% from aluminum alloy rods. Reference statistical data from the Nonferrous Metals Industry Yearbook and use it as the primary source. For non-statistical process data, refer to publicly available literature, research on production processes and technical indicators from typical companies. Estimate related data of bauxite mining, which is linked to aluminum production, using environmental emission data from the mining database within the Umberto 4.0 material flow analysis software. The system boundary for the aluminum alloy extrusion production process should include melting/casting, preheating, extruding, heat treatment, and remelting of process scrap. Due to data availability limitations, the construction, maintenance of aluminum plants, and production and maintenance of smelting furnaces, and other production equipment are not included within the system scope. |
