Use advice for data set
When utilizing data from this wet recycling process of waste NCM111 cells, ensure that the focus is on the intended application of EV battery recycling. Data users should consider the average weight of EV LiBs as indicated (300 kg) for assessments and extrapolations. Attention should be paid to the chemical purity and the completeness of separation during the recycling phases. Exclusion or inclusion of upstream impacts, such as emissions associated with chemical reagent production used in the process, should be carefully considered in the analysis.

General comment
Waste LiB recycling operators will discharge the LiBs first (under 2.75 V) and will dismantle the battery packs to battery cells. Dismantled LiB cells will be soaked in NaOH solution to separate copper foil from cathodes and anodes. After that, the LiB cells will be put into HAc solution to separate cathodes and anodes. The cathodes will be soaked in acetone solution, then the mixture of cathodes and acetone solution will be filtered and dried, and battery materials will be recycled in this process.

Technical purpose
This hydrometallurgical recycling process is intended for the recovery of materials from spent NCM111 lithium-ion batteries (LiBs) specifically designed for electric vehicle (EV) applications. The recycled materials, such as lithium, nickel, cobalt, and manganese, are typically used to manufacture new battery cells or for other applications that require high purity chemicals.
