General comment | Black Copper, also known as melaconite, is a product containing usually 70 to 99 percent of copper. It is formed in smelting copper ores direct to metal without first forming matte or by remelting old or scrap copper and copper alloys. It is a soft, malleable, and ductile metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity. A freshly exposed surface of pure copper has a pinkish-orange color. |
