General comment | Ferrosilicon powder refers to a ferroalloy, an alloy of iron and silicon, with silicon content between 15 and 90 weight percent. It is produced by reducing silica or sand with coke in the presence of iron. Ferrosilicon is used as a deoxidizer and alloying element in the steelmaking process. It is often used for the inoculation of iron to accelerate graphitization. The powder form enables precise dosing in metallurgical processes. It is available 'to consumer' and 'at plant', depending on the point in the supply chain. |
