General comment | Cathode materials are used in the construction of batteries and other electronic devices. They include Mg (10:1), LiF, and Mg. An aluminum (Al) layer is often used as the cathode. Other insulating layers such as MgO, CsF, Al 2 O 3, and NaCl are used to enhance electron injection. Cathode material powders can be produced by ball milling or grinding bulk materials. Boundaries within cathode materials are undesirable as they lead to performance degradation. The cathode material in batteries typically contains lithium along with other minerals including nickel, manganese, cobalt, or iron. |
