General comment | Fish oil is a dietary source of omega-3 fatty acids, needed for many body functions. It contains two omega-3s called docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). It's extracted from fish tissue, usually from oily fish such as herring, tuna, anchovies, and mackerel. Fish oil supplements can lower your risk of heart disease by decreasing blood pressure and cholesterol. |
