General comment | Fire bricks, also known as refractory bricks, withstand high heat and are great for fire pits, pizza ovens or as a liner for wood-burning stoves. They come in a variety of colors and are used especially to resist acidic actions of chemicals or weather. Fire bricks are considered to be a fire-resistant material and may keep flames away from the stud cavity and interior of walls. They are built primarily to withstand high temperature, but will also usually have a low thermal conductivity for greater energy efficiency. |
