General comment | Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) is a revolutionary engineered timber product, often referred to as X-Lam. It is created by bonding multiple layers of solid wood using hydraulic or vacuum pressure. It is made of at least three orthogonally oriented lamellas which are bonded together by glue. It traces its origins to advances in wood processing and fabrication about 30 years ago in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. |
