General comment | 1,3-Propane sultone is the organosulfur compound with the formula (CH 2) 3 SO 3. It is a cyclic sulfonate ester, a class of compounds called sultones. It is a readily melting colorless solid. 1,3-Propane sultone is a white crystalline solid or a colorless liquid above 30°C. It releases a foul odor as it melts. It is readily soluble in water and many organic solvents such as ketones, esters and aromatic hydrocarbons. |
