General comment | Naphtha is a flammable liquid hydrocarbon mixture. It is generally a fraction of crude oil, but can also be produced from natural gas condensates, petroleum distillates, and the fractional distillation of coal tar and peat. It is used as solvents and diluents, and as raw materials for conversion to gasoline. It is also used to dilute heavy oil to help move it through pipelines, to make high-octane gas, to make lighter fluid, and even to clean metal. |
