General comment | Bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonimide, also known as Bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)amine or Bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)amine, is a chemical compound commonly used as a strong acid to prepare Lewis Acid catalysts. It is also used as a catalyst for the synthesis of 1-substituted-1H-1,2,3,4-tetrazoles and as an important raw material for the synthesis of lithium ion battery electrolyte, specifically Lithium bis(trifluoromethyl) sulfonimide. The compound is known to initiate ring-opening polymerization of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane. |
