General comment | Granular activated carbon (GAC) is a highly porous adsorption media with an extensive internal surface area. It is produced from various raw materials with porous structures, such as bituminous coal, lignite coal, peat, wood, and coconut shells. GAC is utilized for removing impurities from water, air, and other process fluids. Despite its effectiveness, GAC has a finite lifespan and requires regeneration after becoming spent to restore its adsorptive capacity. |
