General comment | Formamidinium iodide is a component used in the fabrication of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). It is involved in the formation of the black phase of formamidinium lead iodide (FAPbI3) perovskite, which is promising for photovoltaic efficiency. However, it faces challenges such as the energetically unfavored black phase at room temperature and the distribution of organic amine salts. Formamidinium iodide can interact with methylammonium to form methyl formamidinium (MFA+), and its yellow-phase (δ-FAPbI3) is considered a degradation product but also has potential in passivating defects and protecting perovskite films from moisture. |
