General comment | Lithium hydroxide (LiOH) is an inorganic compound used in making lithium salts of stearic and other fatty acids, which are used as thickeners in lubricating greases. It is also used as an additive. It can exist in a hydrated form as well as in an anhydrous form and both forms are white hygroscopic solids. LiOH is a weak alkali metal but is a strong base at the same time. |
