Use advice for data set When using the data from DCGC's cement production for life cycle assessment or other environmental analyses, consider the specific characteristics and emissions of the modern dry process production line and rotary kiln technology. Be aware that direct pollutant emission data is not available and the provided data is based on energy and raw material conversion rates. Due to this indirect method of data collection, the accuracy of the environmental impacts may be limited. It is advisable to supplement this data with updated and region-specific information when available. LCA modeling has not been employed for this data set, so users may need to apply their own LCA models to gauge environmental performance accurately.
Technical purpose of product or process The cement produced by Dalian Cement Company (DCGC) with a modern dry process and a rotary kiln is used for the construction of infrastructure and buildings, suitable for general construction works that require high-strength cement, such as large-scale industrial projects, high-rise buildings, and large infrastructure projects including bridges and dams. The specific high-strength products, such as 52.5RMPa Portland cement, may also be used for special applications such as oil well cements and sulfide-resistant cements in aggressive environments.

General comment SO2. The main source of SO2 emissions in the production of building materials is from sulfides contained in fuels and raw materials.

General comment NOX. The emissions of NOx in the production of building materials come from two main sources. The first is the combination of N and O2 in the air at high temperatures, which is directly related to the temperature. The second is the low-temperature combination of N and O2 in the fuel, which is related to the concentration of O2.

General comment COD (chemical oxygen demand) (mg/l). Chemical oxygen demand (COD) refers to the amount of oxidant consumed when treating wastewater with a strong oxidant. It is used to measure the degree of organic pollution in wastewater. The larger the COD value, the more severe the wastewater pollution.

Emissions / Emissions to water / Emissions to water, unspecified 2.43E-8 kg2.43E-8 kg
General comment Petroleum (mg/l). Oil pollution in wastewater mainly comes from production enterprises such as steel, coking, and petrochemicals. According to the size of the oil droplet diameter, there are three forms of oil substances in wastewater: floating oil, dispersed oil, and emulsified oil, and the difficulty of separation from wastewater increases in that order.conversion method is used to obtain the data.
