Use advice for data set
Users should consider only the direct contributions to pure milk production when utilizing this LCA data, focusing specifically on energy and material inputs, as well as carbon emissions during the life cycle stages of raw milk production, dairy processing, product transportation, and packaging waste disposal. The carbon footprint data must be calculated carefully using transportation loads and emissions factors as per IPCC guidelines to ensure accuracy in the impact assessment. It is also advised to contextualize the emissions data within the specific geographic parameters of the Sichuan province area detailed in the description.
Technical purpose of product or process
The local branded pure milk undergoes a production and distribution process essential for dairy consumption. The light-weight gasoline trucks are utilized for transporting raw milk from pasture to processing plants and further to distribution centers, catering to the need for fresh dairy delivery. Heavy-weight diesel trucks are used for transporting packaging waste to landfills, indicating an application in waste management and recycling logistics.

Technology description including background system
This study only focused on processes that directly contributed to pure milk production, that is, only the effects of energy and material input and carbon emissions, as shown in Figure 1. The system boundary of milk life cycle is thus simplified and divided into four stages, namely, raw milk production, dairy product processing, product transportation and packaging waste disposal.
